Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture provides direction to and manages a group of IT architects that are responsible for IT technical strategy, and standards for procedures and policies as they relate to IT systems architecture. This role will lead our team of IT Architects to partner with system owners and business stakeholders spanning all domains across Dutch Bros to evaluate new products, assess existing products, and create roadmaps and strategies to leverage technology to deliver on business needs.
The role & their Architects works with IT teams to ensure application requirements & architecture standards are understood and translated to technical solutions or
integration of new vendor tools. Collaborates with users, support teams and IT
management to review new and existing priorities align to meet most critical busness needs and provides process for assessing system designs and plans, and conducting research on emerging technologies to support changes in infrastructure.
Key Result Areas
Leads team in establishing a current and future state architecture vision to support the strategic needs of the business and identifies benefits of alternative strategies:
Use technical expertise and exceptional stakeholder and supplier management to develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture & Strategy and supporting roadmap, to provide an IT landscape that supports business capabilities.
Able to lead technical teams to look beyond the immediate technical problem and identify the wider implications, understanding how current work fits into the broader context and identify deeper underlying problems and opportunities.
Effective communicator, able to translate technical concepts across teams, expressing these in appropriate language so that they are understood by roles spanning all levels across teams.
Engage with stakeholders across IT to embed and promote the Architecture best practices and ensure that the purpose and processes of the practice are understood and followed.
Assist in the embedding of a continuous improvement mindset within the IT team to continually improve services.
Continue to populate and maintain the documentation of Dutch Bros high level
Architecture, to act as a record of IT assets in use or planned, and as a foundation for future IT initiatives.
Define the required skills and competencies for the Architecture team, and work with the team to put in place appropriate training and development plans to ensure these are met.
Location Requirement: This position is required to be in Phoenix, Arizona and required 4 days/week in office.
Ensure IT Architects adhere to IT governance standards & processes:
Responsible for architecture and technical design governance for all IT change in line with the Enterprise Architecture and Strategy to ensure consistency and service is met
Chair a process for high-level Architecture / high-level solution design reviews, facilitating open discussion and debate, resolving technical disputes and ultimately achieving buy-in across technical stakeholders to reach consensus on technical design decisions
Able to balance architecture standards and technical best practice against business need, risk appetite and financial constraints to achieve cost effective and proportionate business outcomes
Takes lead role in developing, streamlining and improving IT policies, standards and guidelines alongside Risk and Compliance and Internal technical teams, to establish a standardized and compliant baseline in user practice
Lead the assurance of deliverables from 3rd party solution providers against design specifications and architectural standards to ensure the technical integrity and consistency of each solution
Proactively manages third-party solution providers including defining, measuring and holding suppliers accountable for the delivery of high-quality and highly available solutions
Lead team in defining & adhering to best practices with solution and integration architecture:\
Lead team in using technical experience to translate business problems into technical designs and assist the business stakeholders in selection of suitable IT
Solutions and products keeping user requirements and business needs in mind
Determining appropriate non-functional requirements for solutions in order to specify the appropriate qualitative criteria that a given system must meet
Design and deliver secure IT architecture in line with the Enterprise Architecture and
IT Strategy to minimize and mitigate security breaches and risks
Oversee the architecture of the integration layer for Dutch Bros (SSO, API, Auth, iPaaS, Microservice Architecture)
Oversee & provide prioritization for integration of new applications into Dutch Bros integration layer including supporting all business domains.

Job Qualifications
BA/BS degree in related field or 4 additional years of experience, required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles that provide a background in IT areas such as software development, infrastructure, operations, and/or information security, required, with at least 2 years supervising/managing a technology team
Proven experience (3+ years) in a Lead IT Architect role, required
Experience in the design and development of distributed object oriented solutions using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python, .NET, Microservice architecture, hybrid & native
App technologies, preferred.
Strong leadership experience of guiding, developing, coaching, motivating and providing appropriate levels of direction and feedback to direct reports to create an effective, well-functioning team environment.
Preferred:
Qualified in TOGAF or equivalent, preferred
Azure or AWS Certified Architect or equivalent, preferred
Exposure to development teams and projects following waterfall and agile methodologies.
Ability to develop, maintain, promote, and review system architectures.
Solid understanding of cloud-based platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and extensive experience designing solutions for the cloud.
Previous experience in SaaS heavy environments and vendor management.
Experience with Enterprise, Solutions and Technical Architect roles and responsibilities.
