Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of workflows for company-owned locations in their assigned region, as well as the communication between the Real Estate and the Construction departments, with guidance and general oversight from their Director.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Establish and enforce project timeline and ensure project budgets are within bounds:

  • Review construction plans, phasing, and schedules, while monitoring budgets and progress

  • Establish and track project budgets, construction schedules, and all construction costs

  • Review feasibility analysis, permitting, design, and construction of new stores and special projects

  • Expedite development timelines by interacting with and providing guidance to outside Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, and Governmental Agencies

  • Responsible for the successful completion of construction remodel projects with emphasis on: 

    • 1) Communication with the internal support team, subcontractors, and vendors 

    • 2) Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with Dutch Bros construction partners during all phases of construction 3) Organization and Management of Projects: review and analyze project drawings and documents, manage costs and profitability, coordinate and manage multiple tasks to ensure successful completion of projects in  a team-based environment

Communicate frequently with contractors, team members, vendors, and Franchisees/Operators on the development of plans, their progress, and timelines while continuing to demonstrate DB’s mission and values:

  • Monitors progress and quality of construction by regularly scheduled site visits providing functional expertise and counsel to general contractors

  • Leads and/or participate in daily/weekly new store development calls with various team members including but not limited to: Real Estate, Operations, Construction, Store Planning, Merchandising, and Signing

  • Assist in the development of, and read and interpret said documents and instructions from vendors and other team members

Provide functional expertise and counsel to general contractors and other outside agencies: 

  • Supervise/Manage new construction projects in assigned region for both Corporate (full scope) and Franchise Development (oversight)

  • Review sign exhibits with an emphasis on the company’s best interests verifying Branding and Trademarking compliance

  • Manage remodel oversight that will include repairs, upgrades, equipment installation, parking lot repairs, floor repair, and replacement, image enhancements, and more

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible knowledge and experience related to project management with a focus on QSR restaurants with high volumes;  or a combination of relevant work experience, education, and/or equivalent Military experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, preferred

  • Understanding site evaluation and due diligence (ie. zoning, title, and physical characteristics), as well as Construction “Best Management Practices”

  • Experience with Budgets and Milestone/Schedule development

  • Must be available to travel on a regular basis to assigned locations

  • Overnight travel by car or plane could be up to 50-60% of the time

  • Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to assigned region

  • This position requires driving, when necessary and must have a valid driver's license

This position must reside in one of the following states: Southern Oregon, or Northern California

Physical Requirements
