The Site Capital Engineering team at the Contern plant is looking for a Project Engineer f/m in order to strengthen its competencies in the field of project preparation and execution as well as capital budgeting.

Major tasks:

• Leading, planning and execution of capital projects according to the DuPont guidelines and procedures (general basis is the DuPont Minor Project Process).
• Responsible to conduct a robust front end loading process and develop scopes of work and specifications inline with HSE, Operations, Process and Maintenance aspects. Leading the production engineering and design activities of projects in consistence with applicable norms and standards.

• Responsible to develop project cost estimates and schedules and adhere to both.
• Maintain close co-ordination with other engineering disciplines and construction team, as required.

• Take over backup functions of the site Capital coordinator especially for budget planning and control as well as for monthly forecasting; learn the specifics of the monthly financial cycle of capital expenditures and interact with local functions as well as engineering leaders of the company
• Act as discipline lead engineer in small capital projects > 500 M $.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or civil discipline) with a few years of experience or demonstrated equivalent competency through at least 10 years of work experience in an industrial/manufacturing plant in lieu of degree is a must
• Good understanding of manufacturing technology/processes and plant operations and maintenance. Experience in capital project execution as well as managing external contractors is considered as an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken German and English is a must; knowledge of the Luxembourgish and/or French language is a plus.
• Self-starter with good organizational and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong EH&S and Process Safety knowledge.
• Proficiency with standard IT tools for office, project and cost management (SAP R3, Office 365 Suite, Project Planning, Db-software tools..)
• Strong team player with good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Continuous improvement mindset
