About the role
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to be a part of our Platform Team. You will play an SME role in our Platform team, you’ll get to work across a wide range of systems, environments & technologies. As a team, we’re responsible for designing and building our infrastructure, networking, cloud services and kubernetes clusters - and supporting the packaging and deployment of our applications and products. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the systems are secure, scalable and reliable - and that the platform is able to grow to meet the increasing demand of our customer base.


What you will be working on:

  • Proactively manage infrastructure capacity to ensure the cloud infrastructure is scalable and robust enough to handle future needs of the company.
  • Tackle complex issues affecting the company's computing infrastructure by devising and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Conduct thorough maintenance and patching of the infrastructure estate, including strategizing efforts to refactor existing solutions for enhanced performance and scalability.
  • Develop and implement new features and services to significantly improve the platform's infrastructure, focusing on innovative solutions and optimizations.
  • Manage critical out-of-hours interventions during on-call rotations, providing expert troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Play a key role in managing the integration and utilisation of CrossPlane and Helm, ensuring optimal deployment and configuration practices.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in public cloud infrastructure, with extensive expertise in AWS.
  • At least 3 years of production experience running and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters, with significant responsibilities regarding their optimization and management, including advanced use of Helm.
  • Expertise with DevOps tooling (Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, etc.), leading initiatives and improvements in this area, with GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions as a plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced scripting or programming languages (Bash, Python, Golang) and the ability to mentor others in these technologies.
  • Advanced experience with Linux-based systems, capable of leading security and performance optimizations.
  • A strategic and creative approach to problem-solving, capable of proposing innovative solutions and improvements.
  • Relevant Kubernetes, AWS, and CrossPlane certifications highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, propose solutions and strategies, and lead projects involving multiple stakeholders.
