Lead Software Engineer - Sr Developer

The Impact you will have in this role:


The Senior Developer will be responsible for development and support of the implementation covering Service Catalog, Service Portal, Operational ITIL Processes, CMDB, Discovery, Event Mgmt., and System Integrations. We are seeking a Senior Engineer with proven expertise in hands-on development and Automation Test Framework. This role is responsible for contributing to configuration, scripting, and integrations across the platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, Service Portal, and enterprise integrations) and ATF(Automated Test Framework). 

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on Development

  • Configure and customize applications, workflows, and integrations using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Client Scripts, Business Rules, and UI Policies.
  • Manage update sets, migration, and development lifecycle activities.
  • Collaborate with architects/developers to ensure testability in designs.
  • Develop and support integrations using REST, SOAP, and Integration Hub.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation for faster, reliable deployments.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers in QA, automation, and configuration best practices.
  • Work with analysts, product owners, and developers to align on requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborating across multiple time zones with global teams.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
  • Champion a quality-first mindset across engineering and business stakeholders.

Quality Engineering & Assurance

  • Analyze requirements and specifications to design scalable test cases, data, and scenarios.
  • Plan, execute, and document manual and automated testing across modules, workflows, and integrations.
  • Lead functional, regression, integration, upgrade, and API testing for ITSM, Service Catalog, CSDM, and ITOM.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks using ATF, Selenium, and related tools

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in software testing/development, with 4+ years on platform.
  • Hands-on proficiency in development and scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Catalog Scripts, Integration Hub).
  • Experience across modules: ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Catalog, CSDM, Discovery, Event Management.
  • Expertise in one of the tools - ATF, Selenium, Postman, SOAP UI.
  • Strong knowledge of upgrade lifecycle, patch testing, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
  • Skilled in test management/defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications: CSA, CAD, CIS (ITSM, Discovery, Event Mgmt.), ITIL v3/v4.

Talents Needed for Success

  • 8+ years of proven experience in Development, and Testing, with deep knowledge of modules (Some of these includes ITSM, Service Catalog, CSDM, ITOM).
  • Proficiency in scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs) to develop/modify Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, Catalog Scripts, and Flow Designer logic.
  • Strong expertise in Automated Test Framework (ATF)
  • Hands-on experience with API testing for integrations.
  • Experience with update set migration, development lifecycle, and deployment processes.
  • Hands-on experience with upgrades, patch testing, and defect management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to anticipate risks, enforce QA standards, and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables, while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to work in offshore–onshore delivery models, collaborating across multiple time zones with global teams.
