Purpose of the position

As the company’s expert team in delivering large capital projects, we provide critical support to all business units. To ensure the successful execution of our expanding project portfolio, we are seeking talented individuals to join our team.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager for our corporate office at Mumbai. 

In this role you will be responsible for leading the design and execution of Large Capital Projects in the field of electrical & automation, process control and manufacturing digitalization. 

Key Areas of accountability/responsibility

• Safely deliver Large Capital Projects on time, on budget and in scope requiring travel of upto 40 - 60%
• Develop electrical (HT & LT) concepts, automation concepts, process control and engineering documents through various phases of LCP.
• Guide and oversee activities of the (external) engineering teams responsible for basic design, detailed engineering, and/or construction of (sub)-projects (automation and electrical).
• Lead/Assist in commissioning validation and start-up, supporting the start-up team and Operations Management to ensure an efficient plant launch.
• Provide expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing site instruments, DCS, and PLC systems as needed.
• Identify and recommend areas for Process Control and Instrumentation optimization in manufacturing processes.
• Design and implement manufacturing data platforms such as MES, LIMS, and enhance Cybersecurity and Data handling systems, providing expert knowledge and support 
• Collaborate with operation teams to deliver lean production plants.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary cross-functional project teams.
• Master contractual partnerships to deliver successfully each workstreams and coordinate with them.
• Escalate risk to the leadership team and course correct as needed.
• Carry out the role of a site Project Manager/Engineering Manager as the situations demand.

You bring:

• Academic background: Technical University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation/Communication or related fields with minimum 10-15 years of project management and/or engineering management experience in industrial large capital projects greater than 8-10 MCHF
• Experience in the Foods, FMCG, Chemical, Pharmaceutical industries with exposure in both Process & Utilities
• Knowledge of Auto Cad, MS-Project & general computing skills with PMI, PMP Certification is an additional plus.
• Extensive knowledge in Electrical & Automation, Process Control and digitalization within Operations. 
• At least 3-5 years of technical experience in the following systems: 
  • • PLCs & HMI: Proficiency with Siemens and Rockwell, with other systems being valuable.
    • SCADA: Expertise with Wonderware and Siemens, with additional systems being valuable.  
• Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, selection, design, hardware, wiring, and switches.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles and implementation, including patching, vulnerability management, backups, and disaster recovery planning. 
• Solid understanding of digitalization in production environments and the interfaces between IT and OT.
• Expertise in Project execution plan, interface management, contracting strategy and scheduling.
• Excellent track record of stakeholder management and management of multi-disciplinary teams
• Track record of an engineering manager role handling successful delivery of engineering projects
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• General knowledge of regulations like OSHA, GMP, HAZOP.
