The Senior Manager, Product Development and Sensory (Technical Formulator) will be responsible for translating scientifically grounded product concepts and draft formulations into scalable, manufacturable, consumer-ready products. This role owns the technical development process from formulation refinement through commercialization, ensuring products meet requirements for quality, cost, manufacturability, sensory performance, and timing.
Working closely with Discovery & Innovation, Technical Operations, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory, and external manufacturing partners, this role determines the appropriate technical approach to bring products from concept to commercial production. The role is responsible for resolving formulation and manufacturing challenges, optimizing products for consumer experience and commercial requirements, and ensuring effective technical transfer to manufacturing.
A critical component of the role is deep expertise in dietary supplement manufacturing and formulation, including the practical application of ingredient functionality, dosage forms, manufacturing processes, scale-up, stability, and quality requirements. The role serves as the technical product development expert who ensures that innovative concepts can ultimately be produced on time, on cost, and on quality.

You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline; Master's degree or PhD in Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive technical product development experience, with significant experience in the dietary supplement industry.
- Experience with consumer sensory testing and flavor development.
- Experience developing products for major retail or consumer health brands.
- Experience with novel delivery systems, emerging ingredients, or complex formulations.
- Demonstrated experience taking dietary supplement products from formulation through scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
- Proven experience working directly with contract manufacturers on formulation development, pilot batches, scale-up, troubleshooting, and technical transfer.
- Demonstrated success delivering products on time, on cost, and on quality.
- Experience managing multiple technical development projects simultaneously.
- Strong track record of resolving complex formulation and manufacturing challenges.
- Experience with ingredient and supplier evaluation and selection.
- Must have direct experience in dietary supplement formulation and manufacturing.
- Strong technical knowledge of dietary supplement ingredients, dosage forms, formulation principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience across multiple dietary supplement formats and manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of ingredient functionality, compatibility, stability, and processing requirements.
- Understanding of sensory and organoleptic considerations in dietary supplement product development.
- Knowledge of product specifications, stability, quality requirements, and technical transfer processes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate scientific concepts into commercially viable products.
