The 2025 dsm-firmenich Spring/Summer Coop Program will begin Jan 6th, 2025 and run through August 14, 2025. 

 

Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday (37.5/40 hours per week)

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Display and promote positive safety behaviors at all times; use proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area comply with the safety requirements and keep the area neat and clean. 
  • Analyze the plant, support ongoing LTE project activities.  This is not limited to credit applications, management of change, action tracking.  Learning will focus on system operation, MCC gear, transformers, cables, motor controls, VFDs, etc.
  • Translate PPM plan into specific preventive maintenance activities and procedures.
  • Identify and prioritize performance issues and cost drivers related to equipment reliability by evaluating the performance of the plant in terms of OEE, using statistical methods, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis).
  • Propose and initiate technical solutions to eliminate actual and potential performance issues and discuss with stakeholders (maintenance, production, business, etc.).  Ensure handover to appropriate work process. Safeguard the availability of critical and other spare parts for the plant.

You Bring

  • Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors currently enrolled in a college/university undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time on-site beginning January 6, 2025 – August 14, 2025
  • Demonstrated ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Computer skills appropriate for junior level engineering.

 

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.  Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
