Key Responsibilities
- Working under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer as a member of a team in the design and preparation of structural calculations, technical reports, bridge analyses, and construction documents.
- Assisting with the design and development of transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and related infrastructure components.
- Preparation of accurate plans, design details, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordination with clients, subconsultants, utility providers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project development.
- Supporting field reviews, inspections, and constructability assessments when needed.
- Assisting in the preparation of permit applications and agency submittal packages.
- Contributing to project scope development while supporting schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Working collaboratively with roadway, geotechnical, traffic, and other engineering disciplines to support project success.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in structural or bridge engineering design, preferably within transportation projects.
- EIT Certification preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software preferred (MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, LEAP Bridge, STAAD, or similar tools).
- Understanding of bridge and transportation structure design principles and applicable design standards.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and standard industry software.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments and meet project deadlines.
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
