Project Engineer - Water Resources

Artheon is seeking a highly motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team! As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will collaborate with a team to develop engineering designs for a variety of projects involving hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management, drainage and transportation infrastructure projects overseen by regional agencies such as the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) and the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), as well as County agencies and municipalities throughout the State. Key Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a professional engineer, design various project elements including drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, hydrologic and hydraulic design for bridges and culverts, and other related elements.
  • Perform hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design calculations. 
  • Prepare/assist with 3D design models in Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads and Openroads software.
  • Draft contract plans and details for various project phases including preliminary and final designs.
  • Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates and supplemental specifications.
  • Perform site visits to support design efforts.
  • Preparation of design and compliance reports in support of environmental permit applications. Assist with preparation of permits to Federal, State, County, and local agencies, including but not limited to FEMA, NJDEP, NJ Pinelands Commission, and County Soil Conservation Districts. 
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Work within a team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related Engineering discipline
  • 4+ years of related experience 
  • Professional Engineering license, preferred 
  • Proficiency with various hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design softwares, including but limited to HydroCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Bentley Pondpack, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, etc.
  • Familiarity with NJTA and NJDOT procedures and design standards 
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
