About the role
As a Software Engineer 1 on our Post Trade Engineering team, you will be at the center of all engineering processes. You'll have a unique opportunity to understand the technology behind modern trading, from partner API calls to order placement to bookkeeping and instrument life cycle events. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams and stakeholders to design, develop, and implement scalable and highly available systems.
What You’ll Do
- Write clean and concise code based on solid design principles
- Own the design and delivery of high-performance systems using Java/Golang while maintaining REST APIs and microservices
- Constantly review and refactor existing code base to make sure it follows the best industry standards
- Develop monitoring solutions for production systems to alert about issues and speedup troubleshooting
- Work with the Broker-Dealer Operations teams to support and enhance the trading and backend system for multiple asset classes like Equities, Options, and Mutual Funds
- Define and prepare functional specifications, develop components, modify existing software stack, and prepare test data
- Guide non-technical staff in using software and hardware systems
- Support applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting
What You’ll Need
- Curiosity and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related field or equivalent experience
- Passion to excel in Software Engineering with knowledge of at least one of the programming languages with a strong focus on data structures: Java, Python, Golang
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns
- Knowledge of the design and development of REST APIs
- Understanding of Test Driven Development and how to write practical unit/integration tests
- Experience with CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of No SQL, SQL, and Stored Procedures such as Postgres, MySQL
- Knowledge of Messaging Platforms (AMQ, Kafka) and building Async platforms based on such technologies
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Scrum and other Agile processes

Compensation
Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.
Please note: this role is expected to come into our office on a cadence set by the Hiring Manager/Team.
