That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas or who need sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible for hire at this time. 

We are looking for a skilled Data Science intern for our Summer 2025 internship program. Our Data science teams here at the DriveTime Family of Brands act as internal consultants to deliver immediate value and design long-term solutions to provide a fundamental change to all portions of our business. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies.

A successful candidate should have a background in coding and programming languages such as Python, SQL and other statistical coding languages. 

The data science interns will be responsible for things like:

  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making processes
  • Assist in developing and implementing data models, algorithms, and predictive models
  • Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to extract knowledge and patters from data
  • Assist with developing innovative ways to increase data intelligence within the business
  • Present results of analysis to leaders and colleagues

So what are we looking for?

  • A mind for the details. Okay, we know “detail-oriented” is on about every job description – but we really mean it!

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to talk and write with confidence, charisma and competence for a wide variety of audiences including management.

The Specifics.

  • Bachelors or master’s student with a graduation date between December 2025 – May 2026
  • Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • You have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Able to read and write in Python (R is a plus!)
  • Working knowledge in SQL, Tableau and Excel
  • Our internship program is 11 weeks starting May 2025 – August 2025
  • Internships will be base our of our Home offices in Tempe, AZ and Dallas, TX
  • You can expect a regular on-site schedule; Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Relocation not provided for internship
