Project Engineer - Building Works (RRJV)

Location: Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years. 

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including: 

• Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga) 
• Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) 
• RAAF Base Wagga 

The proposed capital investment of $2 billion will incorporate a variety of elements including: 

• Construction of new messing and living in accommodation 
• Construction of new training facilities 
• Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings 
• Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

The opportunity 

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer – Building Works to support the planning, coordination of subcontractors, and delivery of building work packages for the RAAF Base, Wagga part of the Riverina Redevelopment Program. Working in a Tier 1 joint venture environment, you will help deliver projects safely, on time, and to budget, while upholding RRJV’s Zero Harm culture.

What you’ll do

• Support the planning and delivery of construction works at RAAF Base Wagga 

• Manage subcontractors, site teams, and day‑to‑day construction activities 

• Assist with cost control, forecasting, progress claims, and financial reporting 

• Coordinate contract administration, variations, and HOTO requirements 

• Promote Zero Harm, quality, and compliance across all project activities

What you’ll bring 

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline 

• Experience delivering construction projects in a site‑based environment 

• Strong stakeholder engagement and subcontractor coordination skills 

• Sound understanding of cost control, programming, and contract management 

• A proactive, safety‑focused mindset aligned to Zero Harm principles
