Role Overview

We are looking for a leader for the Risk Experience squad to drive the future of our Risk and Underwriting domains. 

Currently, these systems sit in the critical path of our onboarding journey, deciding who we can safely welcome as a customer. However, our ambitions are much larger. We are transforming these domains into a centralised, intelligent engine that sits at the heart of our business, serving the entire customer lifecycle.

We’re searching for a leader who can empower our squad to think beyond simple maintenance. Your role will be to guide the team in architecting and building the resilient, observable, and evolvable systems that will enable us to scale internationally. What you will do…

  • Technical leadership: lead the architecture and design of scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems; Oversee code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and promote best practices; Stay updated on the latest technologies and guide the team in adopting relevant tools and frameworks; Act as the go-to person for complex technical challenges. Support production systems in collaboration with the Support team.

  • Team leadership and management: mentorship, team building, performance management, and conflict resolution. Foster an inclusive, collaborative, safe, and open culture.

  • Own the software development process, ensuring software is delivered with quality, predictability, and consistency. Implement testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines to ensure code stability and performance.

  • Work with Customer Lifecycle leadership to strategically align technical efforts with business goals and product roadmap, proactively identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate the product, and plan for the long-term scalability, security, and maintainability of software owned by the team.

  • Work closely with key Stakeholders and Product to discover, implement and test hypotheses that drive customer acquisition. Lead the delivery of business objectives in collaboration with peers, product, and technical management. 

 

What you will bring…

  • Technical leadership: expert-level knowledge of .NET and Microservices, with a proven track record of designing resilient, cloud-native, event-driven systems and managing diverse SQL/NoSQL data landscapes. 

  • Product engineering at scale: you possess a product-first mindset, where you translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions that not only advance the domains under your ownership, but that holistically advance the entire customer lifecycle.

  • Experience leading a cross-functional team of engineers, product, and QA. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure alignment, foster collaboration, bridge technical and business needs, and drive effective decision-making across a diverse set of stakeholders.

  • Strong mentorship skills to foster growth, bridge skill gaps, enhance collaboration, and scale the team’s capabilities, ensuring the team's success and individual development across all levels.
