The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering organization that enables the successful delivery of the strategic objectives for our Property Management Platform. Acting as a manager of managers, this role leads multiple Engineering Managers, shapes the organizational structure, drives hiring and talent development, and establishes clear ownership and accountability across engineering teams.

{ your_responsibilities: [

• Lead and grow the Engineering Manager layer by hiring, coaching and developing Engineering Managers, establishing clear career pathways and ensuring consistent people leadership across the Valencia site.
• Own the development operating system around the subdomain within the matrix organization, including team health, staffing, delivery flow, engineering capability, escalation management and adoption of agreed development standards.
• Lead Engineering delivery from committed scope through production readiness by coordinating cross-team dependencies, removing impediments and maintaining reliable release execution.
• Ensure that engineering teams can execute the agreed technical direction by translating technical requirements into staffing, sequencing, capability and delivery actions.
• Build a scalable and reusable product together with Product, Domain and Tech Lead, enabling future use cases and reducing duplicated implementation effort.
• Ensure that Engineering teams implement agreed requirements for reliability, performance, security, auditability and operational readiness in collaboration with Tech Lead, QA, Operations, Security, Architecture and Compliance.
• Represent the Cofa Chapter engineering perspective in Subdomain, Teilportfolio and leadership discussions, contributing delivery risks, staffing needs, engineering trade-offs and implementation feasibility.
• Partner closely with the Tech Lead and Subdomain Leads to align technical direction, product outcomes, delivery capacity and team health. 
• Own the Cofa development chapter exclusively for the assigned Subdomain(s), including development people leadership, capability growth, staffing, team health and delivery, while partnering with the Tech Lead who owns the end-to-end Engineering chain and the technical integrity of the product, including the product ownership

{ following_qualifications_would_be_in_line_with_our_desired_profile_for_this_position: [

• Proven experience as a manager of managers, directly leading and developing multiple Engineering Managers across teams.
• Demonstrable track record of multi‑team product engineering leadership (not only project/delivery management).
• Concrete examples of hiring, performance management, and building quality systems (scorecards, calibration, promotion decisions).
• Credible engineering depth: experience making technical trade‑offs, influencing architecture, and explaining technical decisions to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with engineering standards and platforms: CI/CD rollout, automated testing, observability, and incident response processes.
• Experience operating within regulated environments (security, compliance, audit readiness) or equivalent domain experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to create psychological safety and coach managers.
• Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), Kubernetes, and containerised deployments (nice-to-have).
• Familiarity with CI tooling (GitLab/GitHub Actions, Jenkins), observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, tracing), and mobile stacks (Kotlin/Swift or React Native) (nice-to-have).
