Description
Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS™) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
Divergent is seeking a Lead Factory Development Engineer to join our dynamic team at a critical point as we prepare to expand our operations beyond our initial manufacturing facilities. This pivotal role requires transforming our factory development processes by incorporating scalable models, advanced technologies, and strategic planning, ensuring efficient alignment with market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement a scalable and adaptive factory model that can be adjusted based on evolving needs.
•Create a robust framework for scenario planning to support effective decision-making under various operational scenarios.
•Draft and execute a clear, actionable roadmap aligning with both immediate and strategic manufacturing goals.
•Integrate cutting-edge technologies into factory operations to boost productivity and operational efficiency.
•Establish and maintain a continuous feedback loop between current operations and the development of next-generation factories, ensuring the integration of lessons learned.
•Support ongoing development and expansion projects in existing factories, enhancing operational capabilities and infrastructure.
•Perform trade studies, research and compile data, and develop simulations to support factory models.
•Encourage the exploration and pilot testing of new technologies within the factory setting to verify benefits and operational impacts before full-scale implementation.
•Take a leadership role in cross-functional teams to drive the implementation of projects, ensuring synchronization of technical and business objectives.
•Success will be determined by securing executive approval for a scalable, data-driven model of future factories, effectively managing costs, timelines, and risks, and enhancing factory performance metrics through data analysis, simulations, and studies.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
•Proven experience in factory development, operational management, or similar roles within a high-tech industry, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or defense sectors.
•Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive, AI, robotics, and digital twin technologies.
•Familiarity with manufacturing economic analysis to evaluate the financial viability and impact of new technologies.
•Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary projects.
