How you will contribute to our magical experience?

As a Jr. Software Engineer, ou will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-impact systems and services. You’ll thrive in our lean, agile, and automation-driven culture, collaborating closely with frontend and product teams to champion code quality, and to build optimized experiences for our end-users.

This role sits within a shared services flex-engineering team, supporting other distribution platforms product and technology teams to launch high impact products. The scope of the team’s work spans a broad scope - from building backend APIs and workflows to prototyping and testing new AI/ML systems that analyze media assets, and everything in between.

The Jr. Software Engineer will be responsible for:

• Be supported by your team to learn and grow as a professional software engineer.
• Collaborate with local and remote technology teams across the globe.
• Build and support robust, secure, scalable, and efficient API-based services for media supply chain integration.
• Primarily focus on backend engineering systems.
• Work closely with US-based and UK-based engineering peers, as well as product and project managers, within agile workflows (sprint planning, sizing, and retrospectives)
• Rapidly gain expertise in new technologies and apply that knowledge effectively.
• Ensure that services are sustainable, well-documented, and adequately tested for operational readiness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and processes.
• Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges alongside your team.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our core systems and their interactions with upstream and downstream dependencies.
• Write high quality, testable code in collaboration with your team to ensure product and design specifications are met in a timely fashion.
• Take ownership of the quality of your code, ensuring it is fit for purpose by following best practices.
• Actively participate in stakeholder discussions to refine requirements and work with the team to propose effective solutions.
• Contribute to cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues as needed.
• Any other duties needed to help achieve business objectives.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

• Up to 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing in Computer Science or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of programming, preferably in a JVM-based language (Java or Kotlin) is required. 
• Advanced level of English (required)
• Willingness to learn other languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Javascript).
• Motivated, self-starter with a passion for learning new technologies.
• Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
• Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong interest in AI and machine learning.
