Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a self-driven and collaborative Software Engineer II to join our Platform Engineering team. You thrive at building robust backend systems, solving async data processing challenges, and designing scalable architectures. With expertise in backend services, APIs, and cloud platforms, you ensure high performance and reliability. As part of a team responsible for foundational infrastructure and services, you’ll play a key role in shaping the infrastructure that powers our product. Curiosity, motivation, and the ability to drive progress independently will set you up for success in this role.
What You’ll Do With Us
- Design and Develop: Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and internal tools that serve as the technical foundation for our core product
- Solve Complex Problems: Create and optimize asynchronous data processing pipelines to handle AI-powered processing of audio, video, and text.
- Lead Projects: Own the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to deployment and maintenance, ensuring the timely delivery.
- Strategy: Work closely with engineering leadership to understand organizational needs, help prioritize projects, and contribute to the overall platform strategy.
- Optimize Infrastructure: Leverage tools like TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, Terraform, Docker, and AWS to build efficient and scalable systems.
- Migrate Legacy Systems: Help migrate legacy PHP services to modern technologies, ensuring smooth transitions while maintaining high service quality.
- Ensure Quality: Uphold quality standards through code reviews, tests, and best practices, ensuring reliable and maintainable code.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience building backend systems or web-based software applications, with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Proficiency in backend technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS.
- A track record of owning large technical projects, driving them from design to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Solid understanding of asynchronous data processing and data pipelines.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs and services for internal or external clients.
- Strong commitment to best practices in coding, including testing, performance optimization, and security.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a delivery-focused mindset to meet deadlines and achieve team goals.
- Experience shaping software architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
