Position Overview:
We are looking for a Software Engineering manager to lead our Mobile Center of Excellence team at Bengaluru.. The Software Engineering Manager will lead, inspire, mentor and coach the agile delivery teams to ensure regular successful delivery of world-class software solutions and deliver on Diligent’s ambition to redefine the way organizations are governed.
The ideal candidate will have proven history to lead high-performing teams and deliver customer value. You should have strong technical background, hands-on knowledge in different disciplines and great communication skills. You should be able to setup performance measures for your teams and for the people and make sure teams and individuals are able to achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior technology and product managers to define the technical strategy and architecture to support the wider product and commercial strategy and goals.
- Enable high performing software delivery teams by leading, inspiring, mentoring and coaching across all aspects of software delivery
- Passionately but pragmatically drive Agile and DevOps principles and practices
- Foster a culture which is open, collaborative, and trust-based, while remaining focused on speed, innovation, and excellence
- Co-ordinate and drive communication and collaboration between Engineering, Operations, and other technology groups, to ensure regular smooth delivery of working software to production.
- Work with stakeholders to develop and maintain short and long-term project delivery plans. Lead teams to successfully deliver against the plans while providing transparency to stakeholders
- This is a hands-on-role, and this person will spend around 30% of their time contributing as a hands-on engineer in Software Development or Quality Assurance. This will include:
- Collaborating with product and UX leaders in the analysis and documentation of technical requirements and user stories for assigned features, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent
- One or more of: coding, testing, and release management for assigned features and user stories, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent
- Contributing to the quality assurance/testing strategy for assigned features, and performing technical tasks as required to support that strategy, including but not limited to development of unit and other automated tests, and assisting with acceptance and regression testing
Required Experience/Skills
- 5+ years as an engineer in Software Development or Quality Assurance, or in software engineering leadership roles including QA and release management
- Expert technical understanding of development management, Agile and DevOps practices, CI/CD
- Strong experience, expertise and capability in iOS app development, quality assurance, or release management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Cross functional collaboration skills and relationship building skills are a must
- Excellent judgement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated individual with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work and promoting a unified team culture
- Experience with .NET service/AWS development or testing is beneficial
- Experience with Windows, Android or Mac application development.
