Position Overview

Diligent is looking to increase the engagement with directors, general counsels and executive (C-suite) leaders in 2025, including creating customer innovation panels (Customer Advisory Boards - CABs), round-tables (both live and virtual), and one-day summits (e.g., Elevate Leadership Summit, NextGen Board Leaders Summits). We are seeking a hire to organize these engagement activities (with support from the events team), as well as develop wrap-around activities and ongoing cultivation of this critical audience for Diligent.

This role is important to ensuring Diligent can meet its gross dollar retention (GDR) objectives by creating a core group of high-level leaders who are “Diligent evangelists” who influence their boards and companies to engage more deeply with Diligent’s solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruiting Director and GC CABs (customer advisor boards, aka “customer innovation panels”) and helping cultivate leadership-level participants for Diligent’s Early Adopters Program.
  • Organizing meaningful engagement events with directors, general counsels and C-suite leaders that build Diligent’s brand as a premier governance, risk and compliance (GRC) thought leader to help drive GDR (gross dollar retention) by planning the events and wrap-around engagement strategy after the events.
  • Cultivate an expanding group of directors, GCs and other C-suite executives who we can engage for customer advisory boards, the Diligent Early Adopters Program and as subject matter experts for future Diligent events by creating a regular cadence of strategic communications, including emails, blogs and articles.
  • Plan the agendas, speakers, discussion topics and formats for engagement events and wrap-around activities that positively impact Diligent’s brand among Directors, GCs and C-suite executives. Events will include:
    • Round-table discussions – live 2-hour discussions with 25-35 specific peer groups of directors/C-suite leaders (e.g., public company General Counsels, pre-IPO directors, public company CFOs) on a specific topic, taking place over a meal.
    • Next Gen Board Leaders Summits – one-day event for 20-30 first-time public company directors featuring a series of sessions with expert speakers, facilitated peer discussions and a cocktail reception at the end (often conducted with external partners).
    • Elevate Leadership Summit – one-day event for 50-100 directors, GCs and C-suite leaders (public and private companies) including a series of panel discussions and facilitated peer round-table discussions.
  • Recruit a core group of high-profile individuals and get them to commit to serve as “Diligent Fellows” who speak at events with or on behalf of Diligent, post on social about Diligent, champion Diligent usage within their own organizations, and/or serve as peer-level references for prospective Diligent customers.
    • Own tracking and reporting on success metrics for engagement events, including attendance, audience engagement, the number of new evangelists and customer advisory board members committed, NPS scores, and/or other metrics designed to determine the effectiveness and impact of the events and activities.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a role that involved working directly with customers such as customer marketing, customer advocacy, customer loyalty.
