As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be an integral part of our commitment to product quality and reliability in the manufacturing of electromechanical systems. Your role encompasses strategic leadership, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate and exceed industry standards. You will lead quality engineering initiatives, mentor quality team members, and drive continuous improvement to ensure the success of the Quality team at Diligent Robotics.

*This opportunity is in-office at our HQ located in Austin, TX. Local candidates are preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance Leadership:
    • Provide strategic direction for quality engineering initiatives.
    • Lead and mentor the quality engineering team to achieve excellence.
    • Mentor and lead a small team of quality technicians at the team lead or player coach level.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Identify and implement improvements to quality control processes.
    • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.
  • Product Quality Enhancement:
    • Analyze product design and manufacturing processes for quality improvement.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to enforce robust quality standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to address quality challenges.
    • Ensure seamless integration of quality measures throughout the product life cycle.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
    • Lead preparations for and responses to quality audits.
  • Data-driven Decision Making:
    • Utilize data analysis and statistical tools for informed decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on quality metrics and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with serial assembly of electromechanical components.
  • Experience in automation equipment, such as capital goods, automotive assembly or industrial robotics.
  • Experience in a startup/scaleup environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and certifications.
