As a Senior Data Science Manager at Digital Turbine, you will lead a team of data scientists to leverage data to drive strategic decisions, optimize performance, and uncover actionable insights. A core objective of your role is to improve revenue, performance, and cost efficiency by creating cutting-edge, decision-making models that enhance our product offerings and improve user experiences. 
You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to develop and deploy advanced analytical solutions that align with our strategic goals and drive impactful results. The scale and complexity of our operation present unique challenges and opportunities, and your leadership will be crucial in navigating and optimizing these to achieve strategic objectives.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Engineering Manager, Data Science:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team of data scientists, building ML models serving a production operation on a massive scale.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Drive the development and execution of data science strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proactively identify key opportunities where data science can add significant value to business offerings
  • Oversee the design and implementation of complex analytical models and algorithms
  • Utilize statistical analysis, machine learning, and other advanced techniques to address business challenges
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and key business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven insights that support product development and business strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the development and maintenance of robust data infrastructure and tools.
  • Optimize data pipelines and workflows to ensure data quality, accessibility, and cost efficiency
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure the impact of data science initiatives. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science
  • Apply innovative approaches and techniques to solve complex problems

Qualification of the Sr. Engineering Manager, Data Science:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Proven track record of leading projects, managing teams, and driving business performance improvements using data science tools and techniques
  • Domain expertise and hands-on experience working at mobile advertising, app discovery, or gaming companies - a must.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, as well as industry standard ML libraries
  • Strong experience with data manipulation and analysis technologies, such as SQL, GBQ, Spark, and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks, libraries, and tools, such as PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, MLFLOW, and TensorFlow
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
