As the Assistant Director (Software Architecture), you will be at the forefront of information technology and digital transformation developments, making critical decisions and synthesising inputs from multiple domains into a coherent picture that shapes the Singapore Armed Forces' digital ecosystem.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking for someone that can operate at strategic level, understanding the complex digital and C4 landscape while managing multiple projects. You must be adaptive and flexible, able to collate large amounts of information, make clear ad-hoc decisions, and develop recommendations for multiple domains into a coherent picture. The ideal candidate can work effectively with numerous entities across the Ministry of Defence and whole-of-government.
What You Will Do
- Assist Head Software Architecture to conceptualise the archetypes, focusing on the technical side of ops-tech integration and diving deeper into the software archetypes with Digital Transformation Centre
- Guide discussions together with Head Software Architecture with partners such as in the Defence Technology Community (e.g. DSTA, DSO & ST Engineering) and Singapore Armed Forces C4 and Digital stakeholder
- Assist in developing the software development approaches for projects focusing on policies for operations and operations managers, and ensure alignment
- Work with Services’ plans to develop capability development roadmaps to build the envisaged Singapore Armed Forces Software Architecture
What You Will Bring
- Education in engineering or computer science preferred
- Minimum 6 years of working experiences in Digital & IT capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders
- Ability to draw insights on key changes needed to improve Software Architecture in the Singapore Armed Forces
- Strong communication and written skills to explain complex technical issues to multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity and conversance with developments in the digital domain while constantly overlaying a military and operational slant
