Software Developer Engineer - 2 (API Developer)

Location: Bangalore, India; Gurugram, India; Mumbai, India

Department: Product Development

Digiboxx.com – India’s 1st digital file storage and Cloud backup solutions provider is looking for a highly skilled and motivated API Developer to join our Technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performance APIs that power our digital storage and asset management platform.
You will work closely with frontend engineers, mobile developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver robust backend services that ensure seamless integrations and exceptional user experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for SaaS-based applications
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services
  • Define API contracts, documentation, and versioning strategies
  • Integrate APIs with databases, cloud services, and third-party systems
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and data security best practices
  • Optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with frontend, mobile, QA, and product teams for smooth feature delivery
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to APIs and backend services
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical architecture discussions

Your skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • 4+ years of strong experience in API development for SaaS products.
  • Proficiency in backend technologies such as Python/PHP/Node.js/Java / (any one or more)
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, JSON, and API security standards
  • Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth 2.0, API Keys)
  • Must have experience in Microservices architecture
  • Experience with version control systems like Git Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
  • Experience in containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with high-traffic or large-scale SaaS platforms
