Reporting to the EVP Operations, the Sr Manager/Director of Operations will lead Diamond Foundry’s pilot manufacturing line producing single crystal diamond plates and wafers for break-through thermal management in the semiconductor and EV industries. In this critical role, the Sr Manager/Director will be responsible for working closely with R&D to start up and ramp the diamond plate/wafer production operation, including surface finishing and singulation. This will involve installing and qualifying extensive, capital equipment in a new facility; qualifying new processes with Process Engineering; establishing efficient process flows; deploying a Manufacturing Execution System; and achieving high levels of productivity and rapid cycle times.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in a 24x7 operation comprised of production technicians, process engineers and a planner.
  • Achieve leading performance in quality, on-time delivery, productivity, cost and cycle time.
  • Deploy optimized process flows, lean methods, standard operating procedures and MES.
  • Work with Supply Chain, Sales and Business Development to deploy SIOP.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization and communicate frequently with executives, including the CEO.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as an Operations Manager/Supervisor.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of production management and lean implementation; APICS CPIM certification preferred.
  • Experience in precision lapping and polishing, singulation, laser applications preferred.
  • Based at the Diamond Foundry site in Fremont, CA.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist,  climb, balance, stoop, squat,  kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions. 
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
