Network Solution Architect

Context/Scope:

Diageo Digital & Technology (D&T) is a multi-functional global shared services function built to drive effectiveness and efficiency across our core operations and achieve our efficiency goals. We fuel growth for our markets through a focus on new capabilities, consistent, common, and available analytics and data, and equipping our markets and functions through integrated solutions.

The “Network Solution Architect” role will focus on shaping the future of Network and Datacentre technology architecture and embedding new products, processes and standards for all aspects of the domain across Diageo

This role will work closely with the Network and DC ops/solutions teams , Security Enterprise Architects along with key partners from the 'Information Management & Security' area and Enterprise Services, HR, Consumer, Customer and Multi-functional technology teams.

A trusted advisor to senior leadership in the Digital & Technology function, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong influencing and interpersonal skills - to ensure that the strategic plans and roadmaps will become a reality.

Dimensions:

There is a significant annual budget investment to enable delivery of the Network Roadmap of D&T which supports the delivery of the Diageo Ambition.

• Actively lead the technical vision to success though partnering with Solution Product Owners, Process owners, IM&S, Solution- and Enterprise Architects
• Own end-to-end high-level design of Network products and processes, crafting the crucial link between Enterprise Architecture strategic vision into Network solution engineering.
• Provide strategic and mid-term thought leadership and vision for how we can efficiently deliver modern network capabilities - to enable seamless connectivity of users to workloads while also enabling a simplified user experience.
• Ensure evergreen solution roadmaps (existing and new capabilities) that bring to life and support groundbreaking change
• Continual expansion of our solutions and process knowledge and network of influence; constantly seeking ways to multi-functionally improve benefits and harmonies of Diageo products
• Evaluate all business requirements and identify solutions how the different elements of business, information, and technology can be applied to solve a specific problem
• Influence portfolio investments for key technology solutions in line with our roadmaps
• Provide thought leadership and pragmatism to challenge and influence strategic direction ensuring that business process, data, applications, and technology come together to meet business needs

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Information Technology or similar.
• CCNP Certification . CCIE in R&S is preferred ( Or comparable Palo Alto certifications )

Functional Expertise:

• 15 years of experience with designing, implementing, expanding and optimising Network solutions for large, multi-national organizations.
• Significant experience in the embedding of strategy though solutions design to enable Network capabilities , including:
  • Wide Area Networks – Cisco Routing & Switching, Palo Alto SDWAN , Zscaler
  • WiFi Networks - Wireless Design, Site Survey knowledge(Air magnet, Ekahau) , dot1x, EAP TLS, Flex connect
  • LAN and Datacentre technologies - Cisco Switching & WLAN, ACI, Cisco Data Center (Nexus, UCS, and /or Virtualization a plus)
  • Network performance monitoring and tuning – Solarwinds, Zscaler Digital experience, DNA-C
  • Azure Networking
  • OT / Factory networks experience is desirable
• Extensive knowledge & experience in transitioning large organisations from traditional network architecture towards new age software defined & cloud based network architecture. Scripting capabilities & experience are an added advantage.
