About Dexcom’s Summer Intern Program:

Looking to spend your summer working with innovative technology and changing the lives of patients with diabetes? Dexcom’s U.S. 12-week internship program provides an experience driven program aimed at developing the next generation of talent. Our onsite, hybrid, and remote work models ensure that we can invite diverse and talented intern classes from across the country. Interns will have the chance to gain knowledge and develop their skills while contributing to key company projects and initiatives. Internship Department Details:  

• Department Name: Sensor Process Development

• Business Function: Sensor Process Development team within Global Engineering Operation  provides global ownership and end-to-end support of sensor product platform development and manufacturing; ensuring process standardization, long-term solutions and continuous improvements with business continuity and user safety, accuracy, and reliability as top priorities. 

• Team Highlights:  Within Sensor Process Development, Sensor Raw Materials team ensures end-to-end support for ensuring business continuity across all sites (troubleshoot sourcing external issues, and manufacturing material/formulation issues)

Where you come in:

• The team executes a high variety of testing which includes testing deployment of product functional requirements, ER scheduling and execution, visual inspections, TMV of critical instruments (viscometers), analytical testing (particle size analysis, colorimeter meter, UV-Vis.), and wet lab chemistry testing. Working with the process development sensor team, you can expect exposure to each of these teams and understand how Dexcom ensures a great product is made for our patients!

• You will execute a wide variety of testing in a laboratory setting and make detailed observations while performing tasks such as ER scheduling and execution.

• You will follow laboratory protocols, test procedures, and chemical safety guidelines

• You will maintain laboratory equipment (PMs), glassware, and inventory levels of consumable supplies

• You will assist with testing traceability by filing, recordkeeping, and entering data into datasheets and databases

• You will support the processing of large data sets using set programs and macros

• You will perform limited troubleshooting for laboratory equipment including analytical instrumentation

• You will ideate and execute continuous improvement projects to improve the lab

• You will maintain 6S best practices

What makes you successful:

• You have experience in a lab environment; should include experience in analytical, polymer chemistry and/or wet lab chemistry testing

• You bring an eye for safety. Maintaining a safe environment for you and others as well as finding opportunities to improve lab safety

• Your proficiency help innovate new sensor materials characterization test methods that improves the internal material screening process. You understand how to follow and edit written procedures in regulated environment

• You have experience speaking effectively with large groups, customers and team members

• Preferred: You have chemistry, chemical engineering background

• Preferred: You have experience using macros for data analysis

Education and Requirements:

• Requires a completed Bachelor’s degree.

• Must be a currently enrolled Master’s, JD, or PhD student at an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Non-Exempt Salary Details:

The annualized base salary range for this role is $35.00 to $45.00. Annualized values for non-exempt (hourly) positions are estimates, final annualized salary will depend on total hours worked. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
