Job Title- Data Architect, Tax–Enterprise Services

Location-  Pune, India

Role Description

An Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and delivering significant components of engineering solutions to accomplish business goals.  Key responsibilities of this role include active participation in the design and development of new features of application enhancement, investigating re-use, ensuring that solutions are fit for purpose and maintainable, and can be integrated successfully into the overall solution and environment with clear, robust and well tested deployments. Assists more junior members of the team and controls their work where applicable.

This role is for Data Architect responsible to apply a range of techniques to analyze problems and evaluate multiple data solutions against engineering, business & strategic criteria. Candidate is responsible for Identifying and resolving barriers with business deliveries implementing solutions which iteratively deliver value. Team player who shares and collaborates, listens actively, and learns quickly. It is the data architect's responsibility to align the target data design against the general data architecture principles, apply agreed best practices and patterns and help the engineering teams deliver against the architecture in an event driven, service oriented environment

Your key responsibilities

  • Own a selection of domains within the (logical) Enterprise Data Model (EDM) including all relations
  • Create and maintain physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy, along with corresponding metadata
  • Designing software which has low operational cost and cloud billing
  • Contributing to building best practices and defining reference architecture
  • Experience in Architecting and designing solutions leveraging on-prem and cloud big data services
  • Designs database schemas for optimization and performance
  • Improve and deliver architecture that considers data acquisition, data flow in an event driven architecture
  • Leads creation and maintenance of ETL pipelines for ingestion, transformation and storage of data
  • Working across multiple business lines to influence, identify, evaluate and recommend potential objectives to support the delivery of data architecture solutions
  • Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices.
  • Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to engage/influence audiences and identify expansion engagements
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • Familiar with Agile Team management tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Understand and promote Agile values: FROCC (Focus, Respect, Openness, Commitment, Courage)

Your skills and experience

General Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) – with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (written/verbal).
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Open minded.
  • Keeps pace with technical innovation.
  • Understands the relevant business area
  • Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members.
  • Ability to design and write code in accordance with provided business requirements
  • Ability to contribute to QA strategy and Architecture decisions.
  • Knowledge of IT delivery and architecture including knowledge of Data Modelling ,data analysis.
  • Relevant Financial Services experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
  • Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.

Domain Specific Skills

Desirable are one or more of the following subject areas:

  • Very Good knowledge of the following technologies are needed:
    • Apache Spark / Apache Beam
    • RDBMS, SQL and NoSQL databases
    • Big Data technology, Data modelling and governance
    • Cloud Data Engineering services (GCP preferred)
    • Java/Python/Scala
  • Very good Knowledge about the core processes / tools such as HP ALM, Jira, Service Now, SDLC, Agile processes.
