We're hiring a Digital Tools & Automation Lead at Merkle in Sofia.

Join our team to help build and enhance internal and client-facing digital tools, platforms, and automation solutions that drive efficiency, improve delivery quality, and empower teams to do their best work. This hands-on role lets you turn ideas into practical solutions while working closely with senior colleagues who guide technical direction and priorities.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain web applications, tools, and automation solutions.
  • Turn business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform testing, and support releases.
  • Contribute to process improvements through integration and automation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development.
  • Working knowledge of Node.js, React, and/or Next.js.
  • Understanding of web security, accessibility, and usability best practices.
  • Experience supporting applications in cloud environments (ideally GCP).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AI agents, automation, or agentic workflows.
  • Python skills for data handling.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, SEO, UX principles, or website performance optimisation.
  • Exposure to Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.

What do we offer:

• We are huge believers in the balance of work, so we offer all our employees 25 days of paid leave and 3 fixed well-being days off a year.

• A hybrid work model for our teams so they can work from the office or the comfort of their home.

• Free parking spaces for all our employees working from the office.

• Complimentary drinks and snacks in the office to keep the energy levels up.

• Parent-friendly culture and potential for additional days off to create new memories with your loved ones.

• Life Insurance, Health and dental insurance plan or, if selected, gift vouchers instead.

• Sports card, partially covered by the company and food vouchers.

• 2 days off for volunteering and numerous charity initiatives throughout the year.

• Opportunity to attend training, conferences and get certification sponsored by the company upon availability and business need.
