SME Electronics Engineer (TS/SCI)

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a SME Electronics Engineer to support United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) activities in Boulder, Colorado.
This position will provide electronic systems, sensor and payload integration, ground-system interfaces, test, readiness, and sustainment activities supporting Space Sensing missions. The selected candidate will serve as a subject-matter authority, shape technical approaches and decision products, lead the most complex analyses or reviews, and advise Government technical or program leadership on high-impact issues.
The ideal candidate will be a recognized expert in the functional area with deep Department of Defense or national security space experience and the ability to influence technical direction, resolve difficult problems, and brief senior stakeholders.

What you will be doing:
- Serve as a subject-matter authority for the assigned functional area and advise Government technical or program leadership on high-complexity issues.
- Shape technical approaches, strategies, processes, and decision products and lead the most complex reviews or analyses.
- Represent the functional area in senior-level technical forums, working groups, and cross-organizational coordination as required.
- Assess electronic, payload, communications, and related system designs for compliance with technical and mission requirements.
- Support integration of electronic subsystems across spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, mission systems, and supporting interfaces.
- Review technical specifications, interface documents, engineering data, test plans and procedures, readiness products, and change proposals.
- Monitor development, integration, and test activities and identify performance, interface, obsolescence, quality, or readiness concerns.
- Analyze technical discrepancies and provide recommendations or courses of action for Government consideration.
- Support technical interchange meetings, design reviews, test readiness reviews, mission reviews, and Integrated Product Teams.
- Coordinate technical inputs across Government, FFRDC, and program contractor organizations.
- Prepare technical assessments, briefings, reports, and other engineering products for Government review.
What you will need:
- Professional experience and technical depth commensurate with a Subject Matter Expert-level role in the applicable functional area.
- Relevant electronics engineering, space systems, sensor or payload systems, ground systems, communications, or related experience commensurate with the position level.
- Experience reviewing electronic system requirements, interfaces, engineering documentation, and test products.
- Knowledge of system integration, verification, test, readiness, and sustainment activities.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
- Strong technical writing, research, and briefing skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary Government and contractor teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications used to develop technical products and briefings.
- Ability to work on site in Boulder, Colorado and support in-person Government meetings and mission activities as required.
- Ability to support CONUS and OCONUS travel when required by the Government.
- Ability to work with sensitive and classified information, Government systems, controlled-access facilities, and Government-furnished equipment in accordance with contract requirements.
- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience supporting United States Space Force, Space Systems Command, or Department of Defense space acquisition programs.
- Experience with space sensors, payload electronics, ground systems, communications, or mission systems.
- Experience supporting design reviews, integration and test, readiness reviews, or mission operations.
- Familiarity with mission assurance, configuration management, technical risk management, or system safety.
- Experience supporting classified national security space missions.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a technical or functional authority on complex Department of Defense programs.
- Experience advising senior Government leaders, shaping technical approaches, and leading high-visibility reviews or analyses.
