Test Principal Engineer

We’re a team of expert engineers responsible for the development of all test cases and test tools to ensure the functionality and compatibility of our products. We’re involved in the whole testing process from preparing test and diagnostic programs to recommending changes in testing equipment procedures and designing new testing equipment.

What you’ll achieve

Requirements include:

  • Implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.
  • Work with internal organizations (Development Eng., Bios, Firmware groups, etc.) to identify technical requirements and determine deliverables.
  • Monitor and evaluate test data to ensure Dell are meeting throughput, capacity, and quality goals, functional test first pass yields and test times.
  • Responsible for leading projects, meetings, specific activities, as well as cost reduction projects for process improvements. 
  • Uses independent judgement to accomplish objectives with limited direction.
  • Helps drive supply chain strategy and lead meetings to support specific objectives and process improvements.
  • Identifies and recommends large scale process improvements through advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Makes recommendations and presentations to executive team members.
  • Serves as organization spokesperson on specialized projects and acts as prime consultant on large projects.
  • Interfaces frequently with contract manufacturers on production or test issues. 
  • Strong relationship with cross functional business teams.  Attends weekly meetings to ensure alignment between test and production.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Information technology, master degree preferred.
  • At least 8~10 years of work experience in PCBA test related function.
  • Fluent on oral and written English/Chinese is a must.
  • Excellent cross functional communication skills.
