What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Linux solutions on our Industrial client product portfolio (Desktop, Notebook, Workstation and so on). You will collaborate with colleagues throughout Dell to deliver product to position Dell as a leader in this space. Meanwhile, the successful candidate will collaborate with technical providers to drive the resolutions of issues and influence new feature improvement.

You will:

• Define and evaluate the features and requirements for Linux solution for next gen products

• Work with internal and external team to design and develop the prototype as proof of concept and figure out end to end implementation plan

• Debug the relevant issues and drive for issue closure with internal/external partners to support the product on time launching

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, EE or equivalent with 5-8 years of industry experience working with Linux OS, device drivers or related system technologies

• Working knowledge of Linux and solid experience on Linux user space, kernel or driver development with Python or C/C++

• Demonstrates proficient knowledge and utilization of engineering tools necessary for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description

• Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and deliver under pressure and tight schedules. Demonstrated ability to write and oral interpersonal skills in English

Desirable Requirements

• Experience on Open Source contribution, especially some mainstream projects, such as Linux kernel, Gnome and etc.

• Good vendor management with proven leadership and strong communication
