Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Data

We are looking for a detail-oriented, talented, and enthusiastic software engineering manager to work in a fast-paced environment with a seasoned cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Security Researchers to advance our Taegis extended detection and response (XDR) platform. Our goal is to increase the security posture of all of our customers while building a collaborative and innovative engineering culture. You will use the latest big data platforms and technologies; our primary tech stack consists of Golang, Java, Kubernetes, Kafka, Kubernetes, and various AWS services, amongst others.

The ideal candidate will have a software development background with an emphasis on distributed systems and some familiarity with data science or machine learning, though personal expertise is not required.  This role requires a leader with experience working with teams to solve big data problems, take architectures from concept to reality, and work well within a collaborative environment.
 

Must Have:

• Direct management of 3-10 software engineers
• Hands on experience contributing to code bases, mentoring, coaching and leading by example
• Demonstrable technical leadership and a track record of building scalable and fault tolerant solutions for customers
• Minimum of 7 years of Software Development experience
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals
• An ability to collaborate with a wide audience ranging from product management, to QA and other engineering groups and driving consensus across them to support your team
• Understanding of Scrum and Kanban and how apply them pragmatically with a team to drive progress

Preferred:

• Remote work experience with a geographically distributed team across a wide range of timezones.
• Knowledge of security issues and best practices to prevent vulnerabilities
• Comfortable working knowledge of a cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or similar
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and big data platforms.
• Experience working with kubernetes and designing microservice applications
