What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Software Engineer - IT, you will deliver products and improvements for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, you will craft and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most sophisticated technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and partnerships

You will:

• Create and maintain an optimal data pipeline architecture with strong understanding of distributed storage systems and data lakes

• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning

• Work with stakeholders including the Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in designing optimized solutions for large datasets. Hands-on experience in implementing data pipeline infrastructure for data ingestion and transformation near real-time availability of data for data lake applications

• Expert level working knowledge of Data Lake technologies, data storage formats (Parquet, ORC, Avro), and query engines (Presto, Dremio) and associated concepts for building optimized solutions at scale

• Strong programming skills in one of the following programming languages Python, Java, Go. Experience with data pipelines tools (Flink, Spark or like) and orchestration tools such as Airflow

• Experience in designing data streaming and event-based data solutions (Kafka, Kinesis), RDBMS and OLAP databases like Greenplum, Teradata, memsql.

• Good knowledge of Data table management solutions such as Apache Iceberg, schema evolution, metadata management and versioning concepts. Expertise in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
