Our team builds the Android & iOS Gemini app. The app experiences are one of the main ways for users to get access to the power of LLMs. The most innovative developers and designers work together in small pods to build products that are used by millions. The role
You will build features for Gemini apps, as part of the team responsible for building and growing the Gemini apps on Android & iOS.
- Design, build, and deliver compelling new features for Gemini's applications, prioritizing both performance and seamless user experiences.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, product, modeling specialists) to translate user needs into intuitive, valuable app features within the Gemini ecosystem.
- Proactively participate in code reviews, enforce development best practices, and share your knowledge to raise the team's overall technical expertise.
The focus of the team is on prioritization (work on the most important features and requests), lightweight process (Design one pager, a PoR tasklist) and fast execution. As a result, you will see your work in the hands of the users often and fast. Gemini is one of the top Google efforts for 2025 and you will contribute to it.
About you
In order to set you up for success as a Senior Software Engineer in our iOS group, we look for the following skills and experience:
- App development happens in Kotlin/Java on Android & Objective-C/Swift in iOS
- Experience with experiment frameworks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work with teams in different time zones (Mountain View, Zurich, Bangalore)
In addition to this, following would be an advantage
- Experience in Kotlin and C++ as this is what we use for server development that powers APIs used by both apps
- Experience with Mendel experimentation and RASTA metrics
