Decentro is a Y-Combinator backed banking & payments infrastructure company. Decentro provides building blocks that help companies stitch their fintech workflows in a few weeks. While starting our first fintech venture back in 2014, we spent years convincing banks to partner with us. Before we could launch our fintech product (more here), we had to convince different departments within banks - including technology, business, leadership, legal, and support to get the green signal. Fast forward to today, we realise that banks & regulatory institutions find it difficult to help the longer tail of companies build innovative & compliant fintech solutions.
What if there was a platform (think AWS for cloud or Twilio for messaging) that abstracts the complexities of banking, identity, payments, lending, and provides simple APIs so that companies do not have to spend years dealing with banks?
We’re solving this pain point at Decentro since 2020. We’ve scaled to process $4 billion + in payment volumes & have 1400+ customers across India & Singapore in multiple verticals such as marketplaces, banks, regulated institutions, fintechs, lenders, gaming, and more.
About the role-
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Security Operations Executive to join our growing cybersecurity team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to protecting our organization's assets and data. As a Junior Security Operations Executive, you will work closely with senior analysts and engineers, assisting in monitoring security alerts, triaging potential incidents, and contributing to the overall security posture under guidance.
What is expected from you-
- Monitor security alerts and dashboards generated by security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security events to determine their severity and potential impact.
- Follow established playbooks and procedures for alert handling and incident response.
- Escalate potential security incidents to senior analysts or relevant teams according to protocol.
- Assist in basic incident investigation activities, such as collecting logs and correlating data from various security sources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of security events, analysis, and actions taken.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques through training and research (guided).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security monitoring and incident response processes by providing feedback.
- Assist in running vulnerability scans and basic security assessments under supervision.
- Support security team initiatives and projects as needed.
What we are looking for -
- Basic understanding of core cybersecurity concepts (e.g., threats, vulnerabilities, risks, confidentiality, integrity, availability).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux basic commands).
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, firewalls, VPNs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly document and report findings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and security concepts.
