About the opportunity

The Dayforce Platform team is looking for an experienced technical leader to create the industry’s next generation Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions.

As a Staff Developer on our Application Platform team you will be working on our core platform framework for extending Dayforce and our Workflow Engine. Your impact will be evident through your effective participation in the entire lifecycle of our software including design, analysis, prototyping, development, testing and support of our products. You will work closely and collaborate with clients, prospects, implementation partners, and Dayforce personnel to envision and deliver the required functionality.

This role is ideal for a highly experienced, hands-on engineer who has delivered across multiple significant projects, leads by example, and is motivated to grow into a more senior level technical leadership role.

  • Drive and personally contribute to the design and implementation of highly scalable, highly available innovative solutions
  • Lead critical architecture design; advise and influence on strategic technical direction across multiple initiatives
  • Mentor and train fellow software engineers through hands-on collaboration, code reviews, and technical leadership
  • Creating working proof-of-concepts; Recommend new technologies to ensure solution scalability, maintainability and quality
  • Participate in Product discussions to advise on and influence the Product Roadmap
  • Take end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-team development initiatives and drive them to successful delivery
  • Contribute to the engineering process and culture, grow with and influence the team

Skills and Experience we value

  • 10+ years of experience in building and leading development of complex SaaS and/or cloud-based applications
  • Technical fluency and currency; comfort driving work, discussing and diving deep on technology concepts, options and new opportunities with technical team members
  • Strong business acumen; Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders across the organization
  • Driven by delivering customer value and impact
  • Experience in leveraging AI in both development workflows and within customer facing products.
  • Expertise in SQL and no-SQL database systems; understanding of data analytics and observability
  • Proficiency with C# or Java, .Net Core
  • Experience with modern technologies (React, Angular, Node.js, GraphQL, etc.)
  • Experience with designing and implementing scalable and performant APIs and User Interfaces
  • Experience with advanced programming constructs such as multi-threaded programming, event-driven architecture, messaging, microservices
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks
  • Proven track record of working and experimenting with new technologies; staying current with industry trends
  • Experience with the latest container systems (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
