The Engineering team at Databook brings together collaborative and technically passionate individuals to deliver innovative customer intelligence solutions that drive real value for our clients. The Opportunity

We're seeking a proactive and skilled Platform Engineer to play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, integrate new technologies, and improve our DevOps and SRE practices. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in backend engineering, DevOps, and site reliability engineering, and will work within a complex enterprise cloud platform to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Promote best practices and standards across the engineering teams to ensure high reliability and performance of the platform.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to enhance platform reliability and scalability, aligning with business objectives and driving technical excellence.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems and infrastructure to support our platform’s growth and scalability.
  • Implement and improve our CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and alerting systems to enhance the platform's stability and performance.
  • Document and track system performance, incidents, and resolutions, producing detailed technical reports and dashboards.
  • Formulate plans and provide guidance on backend architecture, deployment strategies, and reliability improvements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 platform reliability and rapid response to incidents.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Platform or Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a similar role.
  • Strong experience in backend development using languages such as Python, JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Strong understanding of API design and implementation.
  • Strong competency in SQL.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools and frameworks such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, or Prometheus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Working Arrangements:

  • This position offers a hybrid work mode, allowing employees to work both remotely and in-office as mutually agreed upon.

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Experience with or interest in Machine Learning and Generative AI.
  • Experience with performance, load, and stress testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools for cloud environments.
