The role
We are seeking a dedicated Steel Outfitting Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a proactive and innovative individual who can contribute to our company's reputation for quality construction and engineering with experience, preferably within the maritime industry. You will be part of an Engineering team which prepare the Detail Engineering package. You will be able to work in different fields of your expertise and over time develop even beyond.
Key accountabilities
- Collaborating in the execution of the engineering phases: basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support;
- Prepare the Steel Outfitting and foundations detailed documentation based on Basic design and Class approved documentation using 3D modeling software;
- Update the execution documentation in case of changes, and introduces observations of the Class register and/ or other stakeholders from the projects;
- Is responsible for the executed / verified documentation to be in correlation with the technical and technological possibilities of MEGa or of the internal or external beneficiary, for which he prepares the documentation;
- Work coordination with the other team members and also with other interdisciplinary teams, under the direct guidance of the Team Leader;
- 3D model of assigned systems for detailed engineering, design checks and design reviews;
- Is responsible for respecting the deadlines for handing over the prepared works.
- Ensure that all shipbuilding constructions meet the customer’s standars and regulations while being seamlessly integrated into the overall design.
Skills & experience
- Open, communicative and a real team-player;
- Proactive and capable of maintaining a clear overview;
- Bachelor degree in Mechanics or Naval Architecture Engineering;
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of shipbuilding engineering;
- Familiar with 3D CAD software like AutoCAD, DraftSight, Nupas-Cadmatic, 3DX Catia;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Demonstrated interest in innovation and openness to new technologies;
- Proven track record of working effectively in a team and planning and organizing work efficiently;
- Quality consciousness, practical approach, and results-focused.
