The role: DevOps Engineer, Senior Staff
The role:
In this role, you to be part of the team that enables the d-Matrix Infrastructure to scale and
to support the entire d-Matrix software and hardware development and engineering
organization. As part of the d-Matrix DevOps Infra team, you will be creating, automating,
scaling and supporting the core infrastructure that enables d-Matrix engineering teams
(software, silicon, hardware, QA, research) to move quickly and reliably. You will be a key
member of the team that operates and enhances our CI/CD pipelines, internal services,
shared tooling, observability stack, and lab environments. This is a hands-on role where
you will help build the foundation for a global, follow-the-sun DevOps model as the
company grows in Bangalore and worldwide.
What You Will Do:
• Support, monitor, and improve CI/CD execution environments, runners, and
infrastructure used across engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build issues, pipeline failures, environmental
inconsistencies, and infrastructure (on-prem, in the cloud, in labs) incidents.
• Manage and automate configuration of Linux-based systems, containers, and
internal services used by development teams using Ansible and Terraform.
• Own deployment, upgrade, and reliability workflows for shared tools and internal
systems (GitLab runners, Kubernetes clusters, artifact storage, observability tools,
mirrors, etc.).
• Develop automation for routine operational tasks using Ansible, Python, and Bash.• Create and maintain dashboards, alerting, and monitoring to ensure high availability
and performance of DevOps-managed services.
• Partner with Global DevOps team members and Software Infra engineers to build a
scalable, global support structure.
• Document processes, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and onboarding materials
to support a distributed DevOps team.
What you will bring:
Minimum:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related
degree with 7+ Years of Industry Experience
• Strong Linux systems knowledge (package management, networking, storage,
services).
• Experience with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD or similar systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins,
PRs, Merges, etc.).
• Experience with Docker/Podman and container-based workflows.
• Proficiency with Python or Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting CI pipelines and runner
environments.
• Working knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or
Terraform).
• Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana or similar observability stacks.
• Ability to diagnose issues across systems, networks, and applications.
• Self-motivated team player
Preferred:
• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc).
• Job control systems (Slurm, LSF) and hypervisors (Proxmox)
• Prior DevOps/SRE experience in a fast-moving startup or small-team environment.
• Experience supporting ML, HPC, or hardware-accelerated development
environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes (installation, troubleshooting, workload management).
• Experience with artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory, GitLab Package Registry).
• Be part of a cross-site or follow-the-sun DevOps operations.
• Comfortable creating runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation for global
