We are looking for a Senior Backend Node.js Engineer for the Cybereason Next-Gen

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust backend systems, contributing to the development of scalable and secure web applications. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently within a cross-functional agile team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Develop and maintain server-side logic using Node.js, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to frontend requests.
  • API Design and Implementation: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, providing seamless communication between different system components.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage applications on AWS, leveraging cloud services to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Database Management: Design and manage database systems, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and security.
  • Integration with Frontend: Collaborate with frontend developers, ensuring smooth integration and efficient data flow between the backend and React-based frontend applications.
  • Security: Implement best practices in security, ensuring secure data handling and protection against vulnerabilities.
  • Code Quality and Reviews: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality coding standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the development process.

 

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of at least 4 years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Node.js.
  • Proven Expertise in:
    • Node.js: Strong experience in building and maintaining backend services using Node.js and its associated frameworks (e.g., Express).
    • API Development: Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with a deep understanding of HTTP protocols, API security, and versioning.
    • AWS: Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway. Proficiency in deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
    • Database Systems: Proficiency in working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Experience in schema design, query optimization, and data migration.
    • Rust and Networking knowledge
    • Security: Strong understanding of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
    • Frontend Collaboration: Basic understanding of React and its ecosystem to facilitate smooth integration and collaboration with frontend developers.
    • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
    • Version Control: Proficiency with Git, including experience with branching, merging, and pull requests.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with microservices architecture, serverless computing, and working with containerization tools like Docker is a plus.
