The Lead Mechanical Engineer (PMC) is responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering aspects of the project from design review to execution and commissioning. The role ensures that mechanical systems are delivered in line with project specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety requirements while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, utilities).
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor and supervise on-site mechanical execution as per approved drawings.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to resolve clashes.
- Manage and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for all mechanical works.
- Track project progress, review schedules, and ensure milestone adherence.
- Review BOQs, validate contractor bills (RA bills), and manage variations/change orders.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and statutory compliance across all activities.
About You:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, utilities)
- Expertise in design review and site execution
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of relevant codes (ASHRAE, NBC, IS codes, NFPA, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools
