We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web Developer to join our team at Curve.com. As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our website by transforming page designs into functional HTML/CSS/JavaScript pages and templates. Your role will also involve working with ButterCMS and ensuring the seamless deployment of the website.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Front-end Development: Collaborate with the growth and design team to translate page designs into pixel-perfect and responsive HTML/CSS/JavaScript pages. Implement interactive elements and animations to enhance user experience.
  • Website Maintenance: Regularly update and optimise website content, fix any bugs or issues, and ensure smooth functionality across different browsers and devices.
  • Integration with a CMS: Work closely with the content team to integrate CMS content into the website, enabling seamless content management and dynamic updates.
  • Deployment and Testing: Through a source controlled CI/CD stack deploy the website to staging and production environments, conducting thorough testing to identify and resolve any issues, and ensure a smooth and error-free user experience.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimise website performance by minifying code, optimising images, and implementing caching techniques to improve loading times and overall user experience.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the design, growth, and engineering teams to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to the overall success of the website.
  • Leading the best way to build and release features to meet the expected impact.
  • Providing the technical design, standards and good practices for the team and ensuring that these are followed.
  • Ensuring quality, scalability and reliability of the features that are developed.


Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a strong understanding of modern web development techniques and best practices, including React.
  • Experience with server-side Javascript and GraphQL is a bonus.
  • Experience with turning page designs into functional templates and pages, ensuring pixel-perfect rendering and responsiveness.
  • Familiarity with ButterCMS or similar content management systems, including integration, configuration, and content manipulation.
  • Solid knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and fix front-end issues.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques to deliver fast and efficient web experiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Understanding of SOLID Principles and Design Patterns.
  • A genuine interest in working in a fast paced startup and ideally Fintech.
  • Ability to diagnose problems at any level (Client, Hosting Service, HTTP/Network).
