This role will incorporate a wide range of responsibilities on the issuing and acquiring side of Curve. This role will be responsible for implementing data driven strategies that can effectively manage, monitor and improve daily flow of funds reconciliations on the issuing and acquiring side, whilst also being the main point of contact from a finance perspective for our financial integrity team. 


The financial integrity team (‘FIT’) is a joint team across finance and data, and is responsible for the development and monitoring of the flow of funds across the issuing and acquiring side of Curve, to effectively ensure that funds received and paid out on a daily basis, are consistent with expectation and any differences are investigated and escalated in a timely manner. 


Additionally, the incumbent will support the optimization of the flow of funds from a cost and revenue perspective, which will involve close coordination with our external payment partners and our internal PayTech and data teams. 


The role will include performing both advisory and investigative activities and will be a key point of contact for both the business and operational teams regarding the flow of funds (issuing and acquiring sides).


Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitors and performs in-depth analysis of reconciliations, deciphering highly complex exceptions between systems, banks, institutions, acquirer and issuer. In some areas of the organisation, it will serve as a finance oversight for the day-to-day reconciliations.
  • Deciphers complex exceptions, performing root-cause analysis on why exceptions exist. Analyzes trends in reconciliation data to drive optimisation from a control and profitability perspective.
  • Communicates complex break reports to either internal groups within the firm or correspondents outside the firm. Monitor's resolution. 
  • Assists in daily, weekly and monthly reporting using an understanding of the flow of fund reconciliation process (banks, institutions, acquirer and issuer) and knowledge of basic accounting. Assists with capital and liquidity reporting. For the monthly reporting it would be done at an executive level, via the Executive Risk Committee.
  • Participates in testing of new technology solutions or enhancements ensuring that reconciliation processes remain intact.
  • Interacts with those at a senior level in other groups to address issues or improvements.
  • In most areas, no formal direct reports but often provides guidance to less experienced staff. May be responsible for specific supervisory review and approval actions.
  • Impact related to own work, supports and contributes to the achievement of team objectives. In some areas, impact is through direct accountability for the timeliness and quality of assigned FIT work.
  • Building effective and collaborative relationships with Data in building out effective reconciliations and monitoring capabilities.


Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in Data Analysis, preferably in a treasury or finance function; ideally with an industry-recognised qualification in this area.
  • Experience in preparing regulatory and business reports, being familiar with formal report writing, producing high-quality written reports and summaries.
  • Maintain a fluid understanding of best practices and procedures in flow of fund reconciliations.
  • Skilled at planning, organising, co-ordinating and working well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong investigative and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Be well-versed in working independently, displaying effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven track record of using SQL to manipulate and extract data
  • Hands-on experience with data warehouse modelling techniques and ELT data pipelines, data catalogues and data models (ideally with dbt)
  • Expertise with business intelligence and data visualisation tools (ideally Looker)
