Job Summary: The Senior Azure Architect will spearhead the further development and implementation of advanced cloud-based solutions on Legal and General's Microsoft Azure platform. This role requires an experienced architect with a strong background in leading engineering teams in bringing designs to fruition and expertise in cloud security, particularly in relation to enterprise Azure platforms. The candidate also needs to be proficient with DevOps and DevSecOps processes and practices, with a strong knowledge of GitHub, including GitHub Actions and infrastructure as code scaffolding, particularly Terraform.  The role requires an individual with great communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships. Additionally, the individual needs to comfortable with asserting boundaries and when necessary, saying no, or when appropriate, being pragmatic.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-wide azure solutions, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements, polices, principals and standards and are secure, scalable, and reliable.
Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Oversee the integration of security tooling into Azure deployments to enhance security posture and compliance (a knowledge of Wiz will be beneficial, but not essential)
Utilize GitHub for source control management and collaborate with development teams to implement GitHub Actions for automating workflows.
Drive cloud migration strategies, including assessment, planning, and execution, with a focus on security and best practices.
Provide technical leadership in cloud architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure.
Stay abreast of the latest Azure features and capabilities, incorporating them into solution designs as appropriate.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security, scalability, and performance of Azure infrastructure.
Strong Azure networking skills in enterprise, including complex DNS and private networking scenarios.  A working knowledge of hybrid networking is also beneficial.
Guide, lead and assist with workload onboarding, interacting as required with business stakeholders and governance forums

Qualifications:
Extensive experience as an Azure Architect, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams.
In-depth knowledge of Azure services, with a focus on security features.
Proficiency and deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code practices and GitHub for source control/GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
Strong leadership skills and experience in mentoring and managing technical teams.

Education:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 4 years focused on Azure cloud services, security and DevOps/DevSecOps.

Hybrid Work Model: 
Our employees have the flexibility to work remotely two days per week.
