We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Orchestration & Automation to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of orchestration and automation technologies, coupled with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable solutions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting, developing, and maintaining orchestration and automation frameworks to support various aspects of our organization's infrastructure and workflows.

The ideal candidate would have experience using such tools as well. For example, using orchestration tools to manage kubernetes or docker clusters. The specific software or systems the candidate previously worked with isn’t important – the desire is for a candidate to have firsthand experience “managing a production environment” of some sort, as well as experience developing systems for performing such functions.

What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust orchestration and automation frameworks to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for automation, and design solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions for provisioning, configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and scaling of infrastructure and applications.
  • Utilize industry-standard orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Apache Mesos, to orchestrate and manage containerized workloads effectively.
  • Develop custom automation scripts, workflows, and integrations using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring continuous integration and delivery of software applications.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize orchestration and automation workflows to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure and systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to orchestration and automation, providing timely resolutions and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, best practices, and trends in orchestration, automation, and DevOps practices, incorporating relevant advancements into our toolset and processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure automation, or DevOps roles, with a focus on orchestration and automation.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable orchestration and automation solutions in production environments.

Education and Certifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent working experience
