Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $85,500.00 - $128,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

As a Software Engineer II on the Automotive Authentication Team, you will be a part of team that designs and develops robust and scalable applications. You will implement data access services that operate with maximum throughput and minimum latency. You will be an accomplished, well-rounded developer with a solid understanding of the appropriate use of best practices and frameworks for high volume data processing and analytics. You will be passionate about exploring the use of innovative technologies and techniques and evaluating them for suitability in our environment.

Your Role:

  • Design and develop code that consistently adheres to good software practices
  • Design, develop, and maintain our applications using industry standard tools like React, Python and various AWS services like SQS, Lambda, API Gateways to name a few
  • Collaborate with product managers and technologists to solve business problems
  • Live by Agile (particularly Scrum) principles and collaborate with team members using Agile techniques including test driven development, code reviews, and retrospectives
  • Maintain Cox Automotive position as an industry leader by exploring innovative technologies, languages, and techniques in the rapidly evolving world of digital marketing

Technologies We Use:

  • Development languages/frameworks: Java, StencilJS, AWS Services, React, Javascript, Python, Typescript
  • AWS Cloud: Lambda, API Gateways, SQS, SNS, and AWS cloud-native architectures
  • DevOps Tools: Terraform or Cloud Formation, NewRelic, Github Actions, AWS CDK
  • Database: Aurora, MySQL, DynamoDB
  • Stream Processing: Dynamo Stream, Event Streaming, Kinesis

  • Strong database development skills, including advanced SQL, relational and NoSQL database technologies
  • Experience with AWS technologies are required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions is preferred.
  • Experience designing and developing platform level components including event architectures, messaging, and caching is a plus.
  • Experience managing frontends

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a Master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 14 years' experience in a related field.
  • Strong SQL skills, familiar with complex functions and capable of working in large datasets.
  • Ability to work with other IT groups and business users.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Working experience in development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems
  • Working experience in analysis, design and programming
  • Working experience in coding within multiple technology stacks

Front End:

  • CSS (Bootstrap, MUI)
  • JavaScript, TypeScript
  • React (preferred)
  • State container frameworks such as Redux

Back End:

  • Java
  • Python
  • Relational databases, Oracle and MySQL as well as NoSQL like DynamoDB

Cloud

  • AWS (certification desirable but not required)
  • Application monitoring experience is a plus
