Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Lead Data Engineer within Consumer Solutions supports the most complex data engineering initiatives enabling web performance and marketing optimization insights for internal stakeholders. This role arms analysts with exploratory data assets that accelerates time to market for critical business insights and recommendations.

As a Lead Data Engineer, the individual contributor will be responsible for delivering on new projects, processes, standards, and the continuous improvement of data and analytics solution delivery across the Consumer Solutions portfolio. This role will be recognized as a thought leader and subject matter expert having authoritative technical and functional expertise and critical thinking skills to provide complete solutions to source required data from enterprise systems and to configure business intelligence platforms to support business and operational data requirements.

 Responsibilities

  • Deliver scalable data assets that requires in-depth data evaluation by demonstrating thought leadership and utilizing innovative approaches to design custom database objects and reporting solutions to support business needs
  • Participate in architectural reviews, identify architectural issues, and propose alternative solutions
  • Adhere to business intelligence and data warehousing best practices
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Construct, manage, monitor, and support data integration between multiple systems
  • Incorporates understanding of stakeholder’s requirements to creatively design, implement, and deploy scalable data objects and solutions
  • Develop an understanding of Cox applications and their interdependencies with source applications, customers, and business processes
  • Work closely with data architects, data engineers, analysts, and others to estimate levels of effort and review with leadership and stakeholders to set priorities
  • Know how to identify and mitigate risks and escalate potential business issues with urgency
  • Facilitate and encourage innovative solutions and recommendations through intentional collaboration to drive novel solutions through various approaches
  • Perform gap analysis related to data processes and database table structures that populate reporting and analytics requirements

Who You Are 

Minimum

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in a complex enterprise data warehouse, business intelligence, and data analytics development environment
  • Cox Contractor experience in GA4/Pixall preferred
  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree (preferred) in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Proven track record of deploying large-scale data warehouse and business intelligence solutions
  • Extensive experience with digital (web) analytics and related software preferred (e.g. Google Analytics, BigQuery, Adobe Analytics, and/orOmniture)
  • Experience in application design and implementation, distributed architecture and concepts, data manipulation and analysis using PL/SQL and SQL
  • Intermediate knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality (IDQ), and data catalog solutions
  • Strong expertise and knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and data lakes (e.g. Snowflake, Hadoop, Hive, and/or AWS Redshift, etc)
  • Strong organizational skills in a matrix environment with the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize backlog in a deadline-driven atmosphere
