Description

In Coupang Ads, we build one of the fastest growing advertising platforms based on Coupang’s e-commerce platform. Coupang is investing in building a world-class online marketing business where we run relevant ads and promotions across our website and mobile app.

Offsite Advertising is a product where we offer the opportunity to integrate advertising beyond Coupang’s website and apps, to Coupang’s affiliate partners and other popular advertising channels in South Korea and beyond, such as Google, Facebook, Naver, Coupang's affiliate partner network and various ad exchange networks.

This is an opportunity to be part of building up a new development organization with strong revenue potential inside a successful company. We’re building full-stack engineering teams to handle large scale advertising problems, including real-time behavioral targeting, auctioning and bidding systems and search-based advertising. In this role you will be responsible for innovating and building ad serving systems specific to offsite advertising on ad exchanges and publisher networks.

 

What You Will Do

Design features and build large-scale machine learning models and systems to improve ad targeting, relevance, ranking, and engagement

Develop new techniques for automated mechanisms, e.g. automated bidding, query expansion etc. for improving advertising platform efficiency

Develop new techniques for providing suggestions for advertisers to identify opportunities in the marketplace and improve their return on investments

Architect our machine learning platform at internet scale

Effectively lead projects across teams and mentor the junior developers

Work with product and sales teams to design and implement new ad product features

 

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of industry software engineering experience in machine learning, statistics, information retrieval

Deep knowledge in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling

Excellent communicator, both to technical and business audiences

Strong problem-solving skills

Self -starter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems

Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results

Ability to deal with ambiguity in business and technology

Ability to work in multi-cultural, cross functional team

Bachelors’ degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, science or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ads recommendation and marketplace advertising

Experience with real-time bidding on open-internet ad exchanges

Experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)

Experience working in startups

 

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $324,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
