직무 소개  

Security Infrastructure 팀의 Staff Back-end Engineer는 쿠팡의 서비스가 빠르게 확장하고 성장하는 한편으로 고객으로부터 신뢰를 얻고 고객이 쿠팡에 대한 더 큰 믿음을 가질 수 있게 해주는 플랫폼을 구축하는 역할을 수행합니다.  

Security Infrastructure팀은 쿠팡의 모든 서비스에서 사용되는 핵심 보안 서비스와 라이브러리를 구축해 쿠팡과 고객의 보안을 책임지고 있습니다. 쿠팡의 팀들과 수천 개의 마이크로서비스 전반을 지원하고 있으며, 쿠팡과 쿠팡의 프로덕트를 더욱 안전하게 만드는 동시에 엔지니어들의 생산성을 높이는 것이 팀의 목표입니다. 공급업체, 판매자, 쇼핑객들로 구성된 전체 에코시스템을 위한 ID 및 액세스 관리(IAM, Identity and Access Management) 기능을 구축하는 업무를 수행합니다.

주요 업무

• 재능 있는 소규모 팀의 일원으로 적극적으로 협업하면서 IAM 플랫폼 개발 및 신속한 이터레이션 수행
• 회사 전반의 팀들과 협업하여 팀들의 현행 요구사항 및 향후 방향 파악
• 체계적으로 사고하여 기술 솔루션을 파악하되 전략적 목표와 즉각적 영향력 사이에 균형을 유지  
• 아키텍처와 설계의 우수함을 선보이며 견고하고 확장 가능한 시스템 구축  
• 중요한 인프라 구성 요소를 직접 개발 
• 업계 표준 프레임워크를 사용하여 Java 및 Go로 백엔드 API 작성 
• 팀 간 협업을 통해 플랫폼 채택을 촉진, 팀이 우선순위를 가차없이 지키고 “긴급하게 행동(move with urgency)” 할 수 있도록 지원  
• 중요한 시스템 문제를 딥 다이브 하며 운영 우수성(Operational Excellence)에 대한 기준을 지속적으로 상향 조정 
• 타 엔지니어의 롤모델이 되고 팀 문화를 형성 

 
자격 요건   

• 컴퓨터 과학 또는 관련 기술 분야의 학사 학위
• 전문적인 소프트웨어 개발 경력(8년 이상) 또는 고급 학위 취득 후 6년 이상의 경력
• 기술 프로젝트를 이끈 경험 (2년 이상)
• C++, Java, Go 중 한 가지 이상에 능숙
• 최근에 대규모 분산 시스템을 설계하고 개발한 실무 경험
• 미션 수행에 필수적인(mission critical) 시스템을 제공한 입증된 실적
• AWS, Azure 또는 GCP를 사용한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 관련 경험
• 클라우드 애플리케이션 디자인, 아키텍처, 우수한 API 디자인 패턴, 성능, 확장성에 대한 깊은 이해

• 컴퓨터 과학 또는 기타 관련 기술 분야의 석사 또는 박사 학위
• OIDC 및 OAuth2와 같은 보안 프로토콜에 대한 실무 지식
• ID 공급자 및 역할 기반 권한 부여와 같은 IAM 시스템에 대한 실무 지식
• Kubernetes, gRPC 및 Istio 관련 실무 경험
• 클라우드에서 고안정성 저레이턴시 시스템을 구축한 경험 
• CI/CD 파이프라인 및 코드형 인프라(Infrastructure as Code) 관련 경험 
• 빠르게 변화하는 환경에서 다수의 시급한 우선순위를 처리하고 복잡한 비즈니스 제안을 위한 대규모 서비스 제공을 주도한 경험
• 한국어나 영어, 또는 양 언어에 능통

About Team

As a Staff Back-end Engineer on the Security Infrastructure team, you will build the platform that enables Coupang to win and grow our customers’ confidence while rapidly expanding and scaling our services. 

The Security Infrastructure team builds core security services and libraries used by all Coupang services to secure themselves and our customers. Our work supports teams across Coupang and thousands of microservices. We aim to make Coupang and its products more secure while also making our engineers more productive. Our responsibilities include building Identity and Access Management (IAM) functionality for our entire ecosystem of vendors, sellers, and shoppers.  

We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building platforms at scale, with an emphasis on usability, reliability, and efficiency. You will work on adding features to our authentication and authorization platforms, and deeply integrating them with Coupang’s service infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded engineer who balances strategic and design thinking with attention to detail in implementation and operations. If that sounds like you, come join us!

• Develop our IAM platforms and rapidly iterate while collaborating actively as part of a small, highly talented team.
• Partner with teams across the company to understand their current needs and future direction.
• Think systematically to identify technical solutions, balancing strategic goals and immediate impact.
• Demonstrate excellence in architecture and design, resulting in robust and scalable systems.
• Hands-on develop critical infrastructure components.
• Write back-end APIs in Java and Go, using industry-standard frameworks.
• Work across teams to drive platform adoption, helping teams prioritize ruthlessly and “move with urgency”.
• Dive deep into critical system issues, constantly raising the bar on Operational Excellence.
• Serve as a role model for other engineers and shape our team culture.
